Extracciones, ortopedia y estética facial
English abstract
In this article, the importance of vertical control to achieve condilar and aesthetic goals is presented. Most of the orthodontist do not know that Dr. Roth has been talking about maxillofacial orthopedics since the eighties. Unlike the other orthodontics, he always begin from a stable condilar position, never takes out the condyle from the fossae. Knowing that a fulcrum can displace the condyle, to achieve the condilar goal it is extremely important to diagnose and correct this interference. In addition, it is known that posterorotation in class II malocclusions worsen facial aesthetics, therefore is so important the vertical control to achieve the aesthetic goal. Teeth extractions are other important point to achieve the aesthetics and articular goals. Rev Esp Ortod 2005;35:315-36 Key words: Teeth extractions. Facial aesthetics. Orthopedics. Ortopedia.
