El uso de implantes osteointegrados para control vertical: 5 casos clínicos.

English abstract
The use of osseointegrated dental implants for vertical control consists of the intrusion of the posterior teeth that allow to change the occlusal plane producing mandibular anterior rotation and therefore the closure of the anterior open bite and correction in many cases of the class II’s. It is an ideal treatment modality in cases where there are missing teeth or where there are teeth with poor prognosis and implants will need to be placed. It is important to do a diagnostic set up either analogically or digitally before using the implants for vertical control to decide if the patients are candidates for this treatment modality. We present 5 clinical cases treated in this manner, where functional occlusion, an improvement of dental and facial aesthetics and long-term stability was achieved. El uso de implantes dentales osteointegrados para control vertical consiste en la intrusión de los dientes posteriores que permiten cambiar el plano oclusal produciendo rotación anterior mandibular y, por lo tanto, el cierre de la mordida abierta anterior y la corrección en muchos casos de la clase II. Es una modalidad de tratamiento ideal en casos donde faltan dientes o donde hay dientes con mal pronóstico y es necesario colocar implantes. Es importante realizar un set up diagnóstico, ya sea de forma analógica o digital, antes de usar los implantes para control vertical para decidir si los pacientes son candidatos para esta modalidad de tratamiento o no. Presentamos cinco casos clínicos tratados de esta manera, donde se logró una oclusión funcional, una mejora de la estética dental y facial y una estabilidad a largo plazo.
